I folded back the uncut pink and brown to get them out of the way.
Only the center corners are attached by appliqué. This remains tentative, nothing pinned down yet.
Of course, the possibility of absolute failure adds to the adrenalin rush...

I've looked at your work and never understood how you do it. Now I get it! The openness here adds to a feeling of the translucency of butterfly wings. Adrenalin, eh? Are you working fast and furious?

Julierose, I decided long ago that I would let the fabric go where it wanted to in the needle turn appliqué. No net, lots of surprises.
there is so much movement in this start to all the wildness, please take lots of photos so we can watch the process! this must give you so many butterflies in the stomach as you are working the wonderment!
