Finally finished the sketch of a house beside the small university where I teach. I worked on it mostly while proctoring exams--a good use of time.
One Sunday, we traipsed off to the police station to file a complaint against the evil neighbor (who is building 2 huge refrigerated buildings) who hurled insults at us from his side of the property line. Sketching helps make the best of a bad situation...

I know what you mean about evil neighbors. We moved out in the country because we like the quietness and calm. The property owner behind us built a motocross track 2 years ago and complaints to the town officials have proven to be worthless. So we moved my studio to a room in the front of the house to try to block out the noise. The added bonus is I have more windows for light and it's air conditioned!
OH...dear. I too have a troublesome neighbour -- the absentee landlord of a vacant lot. Blessedly, the County keeps an eye on the family member acting in the landlord's stead, and makes sure it's mowed to keep out mosquitoes and mice...but it's a far cry from your troubles!
You are indeed right about the sketching...and stitching...all therapy. :-)
