Cheerfulness

A lettering homework for Joanne Sharpe...it required a selfie, of course. This cheers me up.

Gratefulness

More lettering fun. Joanne Sharpe assigned a "grateful" homework that I did in my lettering notebook. Complete with Bibi the cat and my youngest granddaughter. Enjoyed working on the tinted paper. I may have to add another page because I am so grateful for the support of this community...

A Week in January, 3

Most nights I stay up very late to help my granddaughters with their homework on Skype (and to stitch). The time difference is tough. I sketched my thirteen-year-old granddaughter as she worked.

A Week in January, 2

Because we got a small quantity of rain (not enough--we're still in a drought), my rubber boots held center stage. I slogged through a lot of mud...and got wild with the watercolors.

A Week in January, 1

For January, I did a page per week in my art journal for Joanne Sharpe's workshop. My cute little Kubota tractor was a highlight of the week as I had lots of practice learning to drive it.

Dedication

The second page of my 2016 purse sketchbook is the dedication page.

A line from an old, very old, Mamas & Papas song--can't get it out of my head...

Markers

After playing around with markers on scratch
paper (practicing lettering for Joanne
Sharpe's class), I realized I had a
miscellaneous group of words in a wild variety
of colors. I cut them out and arranged them.
Here's one example.

I'm thinking I want to become
a graffiti artist when I grow up!
