The Beefeater

I don't even know what a Beefeater is, however I inherited a small Toby Jug from my mom who loved all things British (well, maybe not the Beatles and the Rolling Stones). The beginnings of a sketch:
To sketch means to look carefully, learn structure and appreciate detail. The craftsmanship on this 3" mug pleases me immensely...and one can see a certain sense of humor. The idea of Toby Jugs tickles my funny bone--I mean, drinking out of a head? Maybe I'll draw some others...

The Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, and Members of the Sovereign's Body Guard of the Yeoman Guard Extraordinary, popularly known as the Beefeaters, are ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London. In principle they are responsible for looking after any prisoners in the Tower and safeguarding the British crown jewels, but in practice they act as tour guides and are a tourist attraction in their own right, a point the Yeoman Warders acknowledge.

Really, this is an interesting post and a interesting reply from Barbbouk. I remember seeing one of these around in my home as a child. I didn't know, but my parents being British they knew.
