Enjoying Shapes

Being sort of between projects or rather steps of projects, I picked up the Retirement Quilt and stitched on a strand last night.

And then I cut and safety pinned the other side as well this morning. It's measuring nearly five feet wide and is already rather heavy.
What a mess! Nothing like a challenge. The trick is to work just one small piece at a time. Each strand engages me when I try out different ways of cutting and stitching. The forms and shapes mesmerize me. Peace. This piece/peace will be with me for awhile.

Perhaps it will take flight. As usual I am mesmerized by your layering and stitching.

One step at a time... I look forward to seeing this one in progress!

what are you going to do with those collars?

Oh, the collars will stay. As well as a few of the cuffs, seams and buttons. I'm not sure if I'll cut into the collars or not. I'd like them to be recognizable and they really are a pain in the neck (ha!) because they're so stiff and thick.

ah maybe they need perfectly knotted ties!
