When Life Hands You a Lemon

Process for lemons, began with the saying "When Life Hands You a Lemon, Make Lemonade." Used men's shirt fabric stitched to page in loose leaf notebook/sketchbook/journal.
Pencil sketch on fabric, then permanent marker.
Cut out fabrics, traced on drawing (held up to light, a light box would be nice, but I find the window works just as well during the day).
Yellow fabrics, FM machine stitching in yellow, orange, 2 greens, 1 blue-green. Black stitching 3 times around each form to give sketch-y look.
Text: "When life hands you a lemon...
Hailstorm October 12th at 8pm
lasted for 20 minutes and destroyed
2/3 of the
crop."

I love this! It's very free and easy, with the yellow patches extending out from the thread-sketching.
