Stitching the Sea, 2

Slowly, slowly I continue to lay down the stitches.
Maybe I'll add French knots and/or thread beads here and there.
The irregular movement pleases me no end and contrasts well with the strait stitching of the land.

Thanks, Nifty. I'd like to see a bit more progress too, but I'm mired down with ancestors...

Are thread beads like french knots?

As I understand it: thread beads give a similar effect to French knots but are less work because you just take several stitches (or more) in one spot, one on top of the other. I tried this out on the "land" part of my Wing Cloth (back a few posts) for trees. It works ok, but I think I like the effect of French knots better because they are more dimensional. On the other hand, you can get slightly varied shapes with the thread beads, which adds interest.

this is really moving! French knots and thread beads will add such a beautiful texture & shimmering as well as moments for pause in in all the flightiness

I love all the textures.
